TRUE KIWI HUNTING

Self guided Hunting and Scenic flights into one of New Zealand’s most remote unspoiled regions

Peter and Wendy Larsen would like to welcome you to their Waitotara Valley Farm 'Pokeka', located at the end of the longest no exit road in New Zealand!  This remote paradise is a unique lifestyle we have chosen to share and invest into the tourism market as a resource for prime fallow deer hunting AND delicious Manuka Honey! It is becoming increasingly hard to go anywhere remote in today's world,

but if you travel through the New Zealand back country well away from the main roads, occasionally you come across farming country like the Pokeka.  It has a sort of timeless feel and is one of the reasons why hunters love it here.  This is where REMOTE ADVENTURES HUNTING presents the idyllic and challenging opportunities for the hunter

HUNTING

Remote Adventures is prime self-guided hunting located 1 hour 15 minutes drive from Whanganui. Offering a mixture of hunting environments, the terrain caters for hunters to hunt on flat land and more challenging hill country. Fallow deer and goats are available to hunt year round, wild pigs able to be hunted on occasion. There is hunting to suit all levels and balanced to be a challenge and not just a farm shoot.

THE HUTS

The property has two huts with the options of an ‘Old Pioneer Totara Slab Hut’nestled 5km into the scenic Pokeka Valley and the ‘Ridge Hut’ perched high on the ridge with spectacular mountain views. The ‘Boars Inn’ can also be available and is situated at the base. They provide the staging points for hunts and present some inviting hunting challenges.

SCENIC RIDES

The helicopter is based at Remote Adventures and can be available for scenic flights and transporting hunters. Flights into the Waitotara State Forest or back blocks of the Larsen Property to your desired hut presents breathtaking scenery of our majestic landmarks, Mount Taranaki and Mount Ruapehu. This service we offer is subject to specific time frames due to busy work and maintenance schedules.
